New Kraken Recordings release in stores now!

Finally the long awaited KRKN008 gets its release!

KRKN008:
A-side: Eagger & Stunn Gunn - "Morder Dem" (JSL Remix)
B-side: 2000F - "Summer Rain"

The successful Danish Dubstep label Kraken Recordings is back with yet another sub bass haunted release, proving that Scandinavian Dubstep artists are well worth keeping an eye out for. KRKN008 features two distinct tunes from Eagger & Stunn Gunn (remixed by JSL) and 2000F, mastered at Transition Studios, London.

Eagger & Stunn Gunn – Morder Dem (JSL remix):
The Danish madmen of Reggae, Eagger & Stunn Gunn, delivers a killer debut release on Kraken Recordings 008, featuring a massive remix by fellow countryman, JSL (a.k.a. RUF). Morder Dem (JSL remix) is the signature Dubstep track of the moment in Denmark, introducing the Reggae following to the real low-end theory. Never before has the scoop bins of the Danish sound systems been pushed so hard, and never before has there been so many calls for the reload; Morder Dem (JSL remix) is an instant Danish Dubstep classic!

2000F – Summer Rain:
Yet another wet Danish summer passed; rain kept pouring for weeks on, so what else to do than hide in the studio tweaking knobs, exploring synthesizers, and pushing the limits of the bass bins? The moodiness of the summer rain at sundown inspired 2000F (a.k.a. Obeah) to produce this tune, digging deep into the mellow and melancholic parts of the Dubstep pallet. Drawing upon such various influences as classical Indian music, Jungle, and Ambient, Summer Rain is all about deep bass bliss.

Kraken Recordings 008 will be released March 16th 2009, and will be terrorising the seven seas and dubstep raves around the world!

Simien & Obeah feat. Ilawy – Waiting:
This might be the first ever Steppers vs. Dubstep tune! The successful Danish producer and composer of Steppers music, Simien, teams up with Kraken Recordings very own Obeah, and this unique combo serves up a mellow, catchy yet dubbed-out piece of bass music featuring Reggae singer Ilawy’s distinct vocals. Waiting, featuring a heavy Steppers rhythm track and deep Dub Reggae and Jungle-inspired bass lines, has received heavy support from N-Type, Chef and the likes.

RUF – What Are We Doing?:
RUF serves up yet another stomping piece of bass madness with What Are We Doing? Featuring RUF’s distinctive signature Dubstep sound of filtered bass lines, hard drums, percussion, and captivating samples, this tune does not disappoint. A sure-shot winner at every Dubstep dance, RUF’s What Are We Doing? is bound for the reload.

Kraken Recordings 006 is out now! The VIP 12"!

KRKN006:
A-side: RUF - "Rudebwoy Riddim VIP"
B-side: Obeah - "Kiss VIP"

A-side sound clip
B-side sound clip

RUF – Rudebwoy Riddim VIP:
The massive VIP version of the Rudebwoy Riddim VIP by Danish Dubstep producer RUF (aka JSL). Originally released on Red Volume Records, the Rudebwoy Riddim has been rinsed around the globe, but this new VIP version adds a frantic Soca-inspired carnival groove on top of one of the most twisted and heavy bass lines courtesy of RUF. Dance floor mayhem is certain when this tune is rinsed!

Obeah – Kiss VIP:
Supported heavily by BBC’s Mary Anne Hobbs, the VIP version of the Kiss tune is one of the more percussive, intense and Techno-inspired cuts to have come out of the Copenhagen-based studio of Obeah (aka 2000F). With a musical background as a amongst others a percussionist, Obeah lays down a thick layer of Afro-Caribbean rhythms, as well as drawing upon inspirations from early Jungle (hence the bass line) and not forgetting the Techno sounds of the TB-303 acid machine.

Kraken Recordings 006 will be released August 25th 2008, and will be terrorising the seven seas and dubstep raves around the world!

B-side: Obeah - "Kiss"

A-side sound clip
B-side sound clip

Wolf Man – The Kraken:
The anthem of the cold, deep abyss. The anthem of the dark North Sea. The anthem of the Locker of Davy Jones himself – this is The Kraken by Danish producer Wolf Man (a.k.a. DJ JSL)!
Below the thunders of the upper deep,
Far, far beneath in the abysmal sea,
His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep
The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee…

- Excerpt from The Kraken by Alfred Tennyson in Poems, Chiefly Lyrical (1830)

Obeah – Kiss:
The Danish producer Obeah (a.k.a. 2000F) returns with his third Dub-inspired and bass-heavy release on Kraken Recordings. This time Obeah also draws upon various influences, including Latin Jazz and early Techno, even fusing the sounds of Dubstep with the acid sounds of the TB-303. Obeah’s Kiss – heavy on tape delay and dub effects – features distinct bass, chords and melodies, as well as immense percussion, showcasing the wide variety of musical influences that continues to inspire the musical work of 2000F.

Kraken Recordings 004 out 17th March!

KRKN004:
A-side: Natasja – "Ildebrand I Byen" (2000F Remix)
B-side: RUF – "Want Some Crack?"

A-side sound clip

Natasja – Ildebrand I Byen (2000F remix):
The female Danish reggae/dancehall toaster and deejay Natasja was on the way to gain worldwide recognition, when she tragically was killed in a car crash in Jamaica in the summer of 2007. As the first ever non-Jamaican she had won the prestigious Irie FM Big Break Contest in 2006. Since the age of 13 Natasja had worked exclusively with Reggae and Dancehall, and performed and recorded with artists such as Sly & Robbie, Mad Professor, Elephant Man, Ninja Man and many more. Just before she sadly passed away, Natasja had recorded what was to become her first and last album in Danish. It has sold over 70.000 units, and the first single, Ildebrand i Byen has been remixed by Kraken Recordings’ very own 2000F. It has received a rave response in Denmark, and now Kraken Recordings proudly presents the remix on vinyl.
R.I.P Natasja 1974-2007

RUF – Want Some Crack?:
“Hey! What’s up, guys? You want some crack?” is the hilarious catch phrase of Kraken Recording’s latest RUF (aka DJ JSL) release. This is a sure-shot dancefloor filler with extremely heavy wobble basslines, wicked Reggae-samples, and a surprising Soca-inspired carnival breakdown. Whistles and horns crew! Want Some Crack has been rinsed heavily on the UK radio stations, as RUF continues to put Copenhagen, Denmark on the map with his signature basslines and beats. nd has pushed them to be seen as one of the UK’s current hottest production outfits.

Kraken Recordings 004 will be released March 17th 2008, and will be terrorising the seven seas and Dubstep raves around the world!

The third release from Kraken Recordings is ready...

Artists: Even / Obeah
Title: Order / Noise For OHOI!
Label: Kraken Recordings
Catalogue No: KRKN003
Style: Dubstep
Format: 12” Vinyl
Origin: Denmark
Release Date: 17th of September 2007

KRKN003:
A-side: Even - Order
B-side: Obeah – Noise For OHOI!

The successful Danish Dubstep label Kraken Recordings is back with yet another sub bass haunted release, proving that Scandinavian Dubstep artists are well worth keeping an eye out for. KRKN 003 features two distinct tunes from producers Even and Obeah, recorded and mixed in the heart of the bass-heavy Moremax Studio, Copenhagen and mastered at Transition Studios, London. A sure-shot combination!

Even – Order:
“Order” is the very first release of Even, whom since the very beginning of the Dubstep scene has been well-known for his outstanding music productions. His style is unique featuring a mellow soundscape, catchy melodies and a sub-driven bass that will turn you inside out! Kraken Recordings is proud to feature Even’s very first release, and hope you will enjoy it too. This is a seriously deep and heavy 4x4 tune for those early morning ravers.

Obeah – Noise For OHOI!:
This is the second release of Obeah, one of the many monikers of Kraken Recordings’ very own DJ 2000F. We predict the reggae-influenced “Noise For OHOI!” will do as much damage on the dance floors around the World as "Copenhagen Massive" did (featured on KRKN001). “Noise For OHOI!” features a vocal sample of MC legend Juiceman, recorded in Copenhagen way back in 2004. A salute to the famous OHOI! crew in Denmark of which Kraken is a proud part of.

Kraken Recordings 003 will be released September 17th 2007, and will be terrorising the seven seas and Dubstep raves around the world!

Statements:
These tunes do all the talking. Two incredibly musical tunes from Even and Obeah. Dubstep music doesn't really get much better than this. Sounds big in the club, in the car, in the office.... anywhere.
